Second I wish to draw your attention to the fact that there are at least 2 free spell checking programs for Outlook Express on the programs page and I encourage those of you who haven't availed yourselves of such an animal to obtain and use one. I know that English is not the primary language for many of you on here but the fact is for most it is and sad to say reading some messages I can't tell if some of you have even heard of the English language or not, no matter if it is supposed to be your main method for communication. Please take more care in composing your messages to the list, there have been some recently that I didn't even gather a clew what the purpose for sending it was I am sorry to say. I'm not trying to be critical, think of this as friendly advice from the guy who has to read everything that comes across these lists, have mercy in other words. Also before I forget to mention I learned Italian at the same time I learned English as a little boy, so if I can do it the rest of you sure can match my minor skill level in grasping sentence structure and trust me I never go without a spell checking program on any system I own. Re: [Blind-Computing] IE 8 and windows XP
I have been trying it and I find: It is much slower than IE 7. it does not work as well with the NY times as 7. I am using the latest Jaws version 10 and XP Pro. rhutc...@twcny.rr.com Richard Hutcheson 403 Savage Farm Drive Ithaca, NY 14850 - Original Message - From: "David Ferrin" To: Sent: Friday, June 26, 2009 1:51 PM Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] IE 8 and windows XP It works fine for me as well. People are advising others not to do something, when these people obviously do not have all the right facts. I have tested IE 8 with Jaws 8, 9, and 10. IE 8 does work with jaws 8 apart from the menu bars. Those are not read aloud. Jaws 9, and 10 both work perfectly fine on my Xp, and vista and Windows 7 machines. So, for someone to state that IE 8 doesn't even work with jaws 10 is completely rediculas. It is unadvisable for anyone running jaws 8, or earlier to upgrade to IE 8 do to the lack of menu accessability, but for jaws 9 and 10 users, it works fine. I thought it sounded like a good idea. So, I told it to go ahead. Now it will only run with add ons disabled and when I bring up my home page (Google) it says I need to press a button to open parent document. First, how do I turn on add ons in IE 8 and second, how do I get IE 8 to display the real Google page? Thank you for your help.
