Steve, here are some instructions I received months ago from this list.
Russ
To uninstall Internet Explorer
The following instructions apply to both Windows 7 and Windows Vista.

1. Click the Start button , type Programs and Features in the search box
2. Click View installed updates in the left pane.
3. Under Uninstall an update, scroll down to the Microsoft Windows section.
4. Right-click Windows Internet Explorer 9, click Uninstall, and then, when
prompted, click Yes.
5. Click one of the following:
. Restart now (to finish the process of uninstalling Internet Explorer 9,
and restore the previous version of Internet Explorer).
. Restart later (to wait until you shut down or restart your computer).

Note: After you uninstall Internet Explorer 9, the previously installed
version of Internet Explorer will be available on your computer. It is not
necessary to reinstall.

Option 2
To uninstall IE9:

1. go to control panel, then programs, and click the area that says show
updates.
2. IE9 will then show up in the list of programs.
3. When uninstalling the IE9 you will be asked if you want to go back to
IE8.

Vista
Go to programs and features. Hit F6 until you land on something like review
updates and hit enter. Down toward the bottom you find a reference to IE9.

I am using I E 7 on my XP machine.
If I upgrade to I E 8, will it in anyway affect my Outlook Express

I mean to ask, will my Outlook Express be exactly as I have it now?

I have been using JAWS 9, and I am going to install JAWS 11, so then I
shall be able to use I E 8 without any problems, as I understand it.

Hello,
My name is Erin, and I'm new to the group.
 I use Jaws 10 and 11 standard.
I am going tomorrow to get a new laptop.
I've been told that I either have to get seven or a mac. I don't know if
jaws works with either one of them. And if it does do I need jaws
standard or pro.
Also, I saw there were three different versions of seven, and I don't
know what the differences are.
I like to do several things on my computer. Burn and rip cd's, download
music, convert things with GoldWave, join things together, play games and
much more.
I also love to go to chatroom sites and play yahtzy. right now people
can't hear me using my vista laptop. I've been told it's because of my
sound card. However I've tried both speakers and external sound cards.
People still can't hear jaws.

As I said I'm getting a new laptop, and I'm looking for input.
Things like, the size of the harddrive, how much ram, 32 or 64 bit,
operating system, microsoft verses mac, sound card, what version of jaws,
and everything, and anything else, people can advise me with more
information.
i'm going in the morning, sorry for such short notice, but it suddenly
came up.

Thanks for all the help you all can give me.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Deleting e-mail addresses from message

Hi all. I am attempting to forward a message to a friend but I am trying
to delete all the e-mail addresses listed on this message which itself was
forwarded to me. I have highlighted all the e-mail addresses and hit the
"delete" key but they're still there. As a matter of fact,
as I arrow down through them Jaws keeps saying the word "cell" before
reading the line though the word "cell" is not actually there.
It is as though Jaws is treating this e-mail as a spreadsheet. Any
suggestions as to how I can delete these e-mail addresses before
forwarding? Thanks.

[Blind-Computing] burning a CD with vista

2009-07-29 Thread Steve Stewart
I was wondering, how to burn a cd with vista. I have a HP with windows vista, 6
gig of ram, 640 hard drive, 64 bit, and using jaws 10.0.01154_x64. I tried to
put a blank cd in, and after I close the drive door, nothing happened. my old
computer stopped, so I had to get this new computer. I would like to burn cd's,
but don't know how.

Hello Listers. Since being on this list I've learned a lot and thank you
all for sharing your knowledge.

Today I tried to copy the song title information from a Winamp Playlist
only to find that when I copied to clipboard Jaws didn't say anything and
nothing was copied.

I then tried the Jaws Key in conjunction with the shift and control keys
and a virtual viewer came up but even then I was only able to highlight 4
songs in the list. When I tried to select more, the fourth song would be
unselected. If anyone knows of an easy way to copy the playlist info to
clipboard I'd be most appreciative in learning how to accomplish this
task. Thanks.

Re: [Blind-Computing] system restore

2008-12-04 Thread Steve Stewart
kate, what is your main problem. you can always unload jaws, and then reload
it. If you have a short cut set for jaws, then unload jaws, and wait for a
few seconds and hold down the control key and the alt key and your jaws key
that you have set and bring up jaws.

if you would like, send me your phone number and i will see if i can help.
my email is at the end of this message.

reinstalling it all, I'd just do a system restore to the day before all
this started.

classic, then tab til you come to apply and hit the space bar, then tab
