Re: [Blind-Computing] Attachment that are not there

Maybe the list has striped the attachments or if you sent them to your work,
your email admin may not allow you to receive large attachments if they are
large?

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Attachment that are not there

Hi all.
I am working on microsoft Outlook 2007, and I have 2 eMails with
attachments. I sent those files from my home. When I open those emails, and
I press insert A, jaws says is not attachment on this eMail. I press shift
tab, trying to get where normally the attachments are, but is anything
there.
How can I take those attachments, when outlook says that the email has an
attachment in the list view, but when I open the eMail, is not attachment?
Thanks
Pablo

[Blind-Computing] a map query

2007-11-14 Thread stephen
hello list.

i have a blind friend who is coming to her final exam for her law course.

she has told me that it is a possibility that the questions on the final paper
could be to do with a map.

my question is this.

does anyone know of any software or hardware that can give a blind person a
good idea of what is detailed on the map?

i assume it will detail boundaries and where pipes etc. lie in relationship to
buildings.

any help on this matter would be gratefully appreciated.

regards.

[Blind-Computing] skype advice again

2007-10-21 Thread stephen
hello list.

after having been through a few web sites to do with trying to get skype and
scripts installed on an xp machine running jaws 5 i have got the following
question.

i currently use skype 3.1 with scripts revision number 403 with jaws 8 and am
having no problems.

my question is this: the person i am helping to install skype is to say the
least a little nervous with computers and i don't want to make her life harder
by installing a version of skype which will not work with her jaws 5.

can anyone advise if this version of skype (3.1) and scripts (403) that i
currently have running here will work for her.

all help is greatly appreciated.

regards.

 Hi John,

The link worked fine for me.

One thing you might try is going to the following link:

 http://www.shandrow.com/audio/podcast/

and look for the link that says:

 serotek_rim_demo_1.mp3

If you use Jaws, use the links list dialog box, and press the letter S
 until
you hear the file name above.

If you use another screen reader, you can accomplish this task using that
 screen reader's equivalent.

 Hope this helps.

Re: [Blind-Computing] IE7

2007-10-17 Thread stephen
hey lisa.

am also using xp home, jaws 8 and have been using i.e.7 for a couple of
months now with no problems to report.

as far as i can tell there are no major differences between 6 and 7 except
for jaws 8 announcing the rss feeds which could be useful to you.

if i was you i would go for it and if for whatever reason you don't like it
then just uninstall it and your system will revert back to i.e.6.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] IE7

 Hello everyone,
I just got a windows update wanting me to install IE7. For those of you
that use IE7 how do you like it, and how well does it work with jaws 8? I
heard that it is a little bit different from IE6, but I don't know what
the differences are. I'm not sure if I should install it because if I
don't like it I'm probably stuck with it. If someone could give me a
brief description of some of the differences in IE7 I would really
appreciate it! I am using jaws 8, and I have windows XP home edition.
 Take care,
 Lisa

[Blind-Computing] cue points problem

2007-09-23 Thread stephen
hello list.

i have a mp3 file with a cue sheet.

the problem is this:

when i use nero to burn the disk by clicking on the .cue file extension i find
that the overall length of the disk is 83 minutes, which obviously cannot be
burned to a regular cd disk.

i understand that a program called cue splitter will split the whole mp3 track
into seperate ones but am unsure how to use the program.

does anyone know how to use this program or if not can they suggest a suitable
program to do the job?

i am running jfw v8 on a xp machine.

all advice and help is greatly appreciated.
