2007-06-30 Thread Lennie Rinaldi
Hi Mark,

You can download the script from JawsLite home page at:

http://www.jfwlite.com/programs.html

I am also using Jaws 8 and the GoldWave scripts for version 5. I am
using GoldWave version 5.18. The scripts are downloaded as a zip file
which has to be unzip to the Jaws 8 your user name, such as :

c:\Documents and Settings\User name\Application Data\Freedom
Scientific\Jaws\8.0\Settings\Enu

Let me know when you get the scripts and I will try to help you after that.

Re: [Blind-Computing] Audacity Transferring Cassette To PC Question

2007-06-29 Thread Ricque
Hi Linda,
Yes, many people have heard of Audacity, in fact both David and I have it on
our websites.
I don't see the connection between the software, and the scanner, but right
now, that's neither here nor there . smile.
If you are just wanting to record from an external source, such as a tape
player, or record player,
than any of the software mentioned on the list earlierwill certainly do the
job.
If you don't have any of it, you can download free from:
The audio page at:
www.blind-computing.com
or
the programs page at:

My husband purchased a record player which came with software called
Audacity to enable him to transfer records to disks. Have any of you ever
heard of this software? He is not blind by the way. When he loaded it in,
his scanner got really messed up and he couldn't use it. He called his
scanner's customer support and for $25 they helped him fix it. I would be
afraid to reload that software.

Two questions:

Can he use the same software to load records into the computer as tapes?

And

since I would like to be able to do the same thing with jaws what software
is recommended? I am not interested in loading in speech or copying from
four-track, but I need the easiest software I can get that will work well
right now.

Hello Linda,

Have you been following the postings on GoldWave? GoldWave will work
very well to record record albums and you can use the software too!
It works very well as long as you have scripts for it.

I am using it to record my albums with my record player. If I can be
of any further help to you, please let me know.

Hi Lenny,
Yes, I did read about gold wave, and it sounds like that would be a good
choice. I wonder how expensive this software is?

Lenny, if you are interested in helping me further we probably should go off
list because I am very elementary. One would need a lot of patience.

Would you email me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] for further
communication?
Linda

Re: [Blind-Computing] Audacity Transferring Cassette To PC Question

2007-06-29 Thread Lennie Rinaldi
Hello Linda,

Have you been following the postings on GoldWave? GoldWave will work
very well to record record albums and you can use the software too!
It works very well as long as you have scripts for it.

I am using it to record my albums with my record player. If I can be
of any further help to you, please let me know.

Lennie

Re: [Blind-Computing] Audacity Transferring Cassette To PC Question

2007-06-29 Thread Linda
My husband purchased a record player which came with software called
Audacity to enable him to transfer records to disks. Have any of you ever
heard of this software? He is not blind by the way. When he loaded it in,
his scanner got really messed up and he couldn't use it. He called his
scanner's customer support and for $25 they helped him fix it. I would be
afraid to reload that software.

Two questions:

Can he use the same software to load records into the computer as tapes?

And

since I would like to be able to do the same thing with jaws what software
is recommended? I am not interested in loading in speech or copying from
four-track, but I need the easiest software I can get that will work well
right now.
