Chris, I chose "no" as you said and CDex wouldn't do anything and just sat there silently when I put in the music CD. I tried the troubleshooting section of CDex's help and there were several suggestions to try. Before undertaking this project, I tried loading the program and choosing "yes" since it seemed to make sense to allow it and the track information came up quite quickly. I've now successfully ripped my first 2 songs and it's fantastic to have another skill under my belt!!! A huge thank you to whomever wrote the clear instructions for the program and to the moderators, and all the list members who are so generous with their time and expertise!!! Which item do I want? I chose the recommended full installation. I'm running XP Home with SP 3, and JAWS 7 to 10 are on the machine. I tried loading CDex with JFW 9.
