Re: [Blind-Computing] Help Needed with InterVideo WinDVD 8

2009-10-13 Thread Donald Marang

Hi Mark,

There are very few DVDs with Descriptive Video included. Evidently, the
blind community has not made it known by sales that they are interested.
Here is a list from the WGBH, the PBS station in Boston, website. WGBH
invented TV captioning and video descriptions.

Hi Don,
Actually, I was just trying to set up the basic functions of the
player to always choose the descriptive video if it was available. I will
have to check to see how they would switch to a different audio track. I
wonder where one finds the Descriptive audio DVD's?

God bless,
Mark

Hi Mark,

Are you sure the DVD has an alternate audio track with Described Video?
It would be available as a different audio track, just as other
languages are provided. I have not found many DVDs with Described Video
available.

I am not familiar with that application, so I do not know if it also has
hotkeys. Some programs, such as PowerDVD from CyberLink use Control + L
to switch languages / audio tracks.

Hi
My acer laptop computer came with InterVideo WinDVD 8 pre-installed.
This is a program for playing DVD's. I am able to access most of the
functions by using the application key on my keyboard. What I need to
know is is there a way to turn on descriptive video? I didn't see it as
an option under the language settings for subtitles.

God bless,
Mark
