Re: [Blind-Computing] Help Needed with InterVideo WinDVD 8
Hi Mark, There are very few DVDs with Descriptive Video included. Evidently, the blind community has not made it known by sales that they are interested. Here is a list from the WGBH, the PBS station in Boston, website. WGBH invented TV captioning and video descriptions. http://main.wgbh.org/wgbh/pages/mag/resources/accessible-dvds.html Don Marang - Original Message - From: Mark torgersonena...@gmail.com To: blind-computing@jaws-users.com Sent: Monday, October 12, 2009 11:56 PM Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] Help Needed with InterVideo WinDVD 8 Hi Don, Actually, I was just trying to set up the basic functions of the player to always choose the descriptive video if it was available. I will have to check to see how they would switch to a different audio track. I wonder where one finds the Descriptive audio DVD's? It would be available as a different audio track, just as other languages are provided. I have not found many DVDs with Described Video available. I am not familiar with that application, so I do not know if it also has hotkeys. Some programs, such as PowerDVD from CyberLink use Control + L to switch languages / audio tracks. This is a program for playing DVD's. I am able to access most of the functions by using the application key on my keyboard. What I need to know is is there a way to turn on descriptive video? I didn't see it as an option under the language settings for subtitles.
