[Blind-Computing] Netbook power management

2010-07-13 Thread Norma A. Boge

Hi people,

I'm running XP on my Asus netbook. I'm not sure what I did, but
whenever I have the netbook plugged in, the fan runs constantly and
the AC adapter gets very warm. I need to know how to correct this,
and I also need to know what is optimal as far as power management
settings go.

Thanks,
Norma

[Blind-Computing] netbook not playing YouTube videos

2010-02-24 Thread Aleeha Dudley
Hi,
I have an Asus netbook that won't play YouTube or online music files.
It plays the first second or so of the file and then stops. It does
not come back. I have checked to see if JavaScript is on and it is.
Can someone please help?
Thanks,
Aleeha

No, sorry I am afraid I can't help you out with that. I never installed it
on any of my machines, never needed it for anything.

I will be doing that real soon as soon as I finish configuring my Netbook.
Chrissie did you install Java Access Bridge in your Netbook? I seem to be
having trouble.

I received the 2 gig stick today and had no problems changing them out. now
I have two gigs of memory on my lenovo netbook. After I started the netbook
again, the new stick was instantly recognized by the computer. I had sighted

help here, just in case, but managed it by myself after all.

It recognized my Flash Drive but it won't recognize the CD/DVD drive. They
told me that I might have to download some drivers but I haven't been able
to get the internet working yet. I finally got Jaws fully installed.

if it is a usb drive then it should automatically start up once hooked up
and will be recognized as the next drive letter in line. meaning if you have

a C and D drive already on your netbook it should show as E. Hook it up and

then insert the cd not before the hook up. see if that works. is autoplay
enabled on your netbook?

maybe the USB isn't active yet?

does the netbook make any sound when the cable is connected? mean the USB
one.

wonder if you could copy the installation files from the disk on to a pen
drive. no idea if it's possible. just making suggestions.

I just found a Podcast on a Asus Netbook Computer. It is an older model but
I am quite impressed with their sound quality. It sounds really good. If
anyway want to check it out, here is the link. The new ones come with the
10 inch screen. Make sure it has that. The ones with the smaller screens
are cheaper.

Re: [Blind-Computing] Netbook computers and Jaws

2009-05-28 Thread jeremy
From what I have noticed on mine so far, my netbook beeing an asus eee pc
1000h, only issue is sometimes with how it reads things on the screen. Of
corse, the display settings are a bit weird on this one as it's screen is a
bit smaller than say the sampsung but it's really not anything I have had to
worry about. I have read that it has issues with the display beeing set as
it's default of right below 1024/768 but it's only acted odd a few times and
it's only when I maximize things like in notepad. Other than that, they are
wonderful computers and jaws works beautifully.
