[Blind-Computing] SAToGo

2012-01-12 Thread Silpa Mallipeddi
Hi All:

Has anybody on the list used SAToGo.
Is it an open source screen reader llike NVDA.

I would lie to know the differences from installation and other things
between NVDA and SAToGo.

Thanks and regards,
Silpa.

Hi Silpa,

SA Togo is a free, web-resident version of System Access. It is not open
source like NVDA, but Serotek is willing to hear of any suggestions or
comments you may have.

Hth,

2010-01-29 Thread Kimsan Song
Hi,

How does SATOGO work?

I mean, I wouldn't just go to a random computer, press Windows key r, type
www.satogo.com and go about my day would I?

I'm hoping I will find someone who knows a lot about this because I have a
few questions.

If you have a library I.E you could what you just stated in this

Yes that's exactly what you would do.
You'd would then have a screen reader as long as you are connected to the
Internet.

After you go to the satogo.com website and press Enter, it will download a
small executable to a temporary folder where it will run. It will ask you
to press Alt + R twice in a prerecorded voice to respond to the Windows
security dialogs. Once the computer is rebooted, the temp area should be
cleared and there will be no remainder of the software on that computer.

Additionally, it is possible to use this screen reader without even creating
an account. Just keep Tabbing past the login button.

Hi,

When you go to the satogo site, it automatically downloads and then you
hit enter on begin. There is a paid version but that one is called
system access. You have to subscribe to their SA mobile service if you
want to use that. Satogo itself is free.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Satogo question

I am trying to use www.satogo.com with IE7. when it starts talking, it
tells me to press alt+r to continue, but when I do that I am put into a
print menu which seems to be a part of IE7.
I just installed IE7, so I'm not familiar wit all it's intricacies. How
do I get around this because I would like to take a look at satogo.

Thanks.

Re: [Blind-Computing] Satogo question

2009-07-02 Thread Dan Murphy
well it's a problem in IE7, because that print menu is there on any web site
I go to. I don't need Satogo, but I wanted to check it out.
Also there's a toolbar at the top of the screen that I can't seem to get rid
of.
Has anyone written up anything about how to configure IE7 so that that a;t+r
print menu isn't present?

Hi Dan,
I noticed the same thing the last time I tried accessing it with IE 7.
This did not happen in the past. Something must have changed and I don't
know what it is.

Re: [Blind-Computing] SATOGO Feed Back Anyone?

Hi Miss Cathy,
Yes, I gave it a go.
It's not bad,and it's not Jaws or Window Eyes either.
In most cases, as a portable reader, so to speak, it will get the job done.
And right now, the price is exactly right! smile
