Really not too sure, since think it would generally be done with a mouse 
clicking on the top of a column while holding in shift key, but you 
should/might be able to find info in the Free guides for VI people, word 
file:

Thanks for that. But how do you select the next column though?  after

I wonder if it is possible to actually do this with JAWS. Our
instructor's direction is:

"Make a table with 5 columns and 30 rows. Murge the first  10 rows in
the first  column. AlsoMurge column 4 and 5 from rows 4 to 15." How do
I do this with JAWS 10using word 2003.
