   Hi all,
How can I make the send/receive dialogue box come up automatically, for
example each time I start it? I don't mind using control m, but I'm just
wondering if there's a way for it to come up automatically like there is

Let's say that you want to check your messages.
If you do a f5then if you are on DSL then your computer will go to check for
messages.
Another words instead of doing control,s.
you will do the f5.
Do you understand now?

it refreshes the screen in ie so if anything on the page changes, you'll be
notified because in gmail the page does not refresh automatically.

   Hi all,
How can I make the send/receive dialogue box come up automatically, for
example each time I start it? I don't mind using control m, but I'm
 just
wondering if there's a way for it to come up automatically like there
 is
   in Outlook. Thanks!

I've checked and don't see such an option either. Sorry and btw still can't
figure out how to delete the trash folder in gmail itself even in standard
view but that's another thread sorry.

Thanks for the help, however, the inbox shows instead of the send/receive
dialogue box. I don't think this is possible, so may have to end this
 thread
shortly. I just thought that like Outlook it was possible to pop up the
send/receive dialogue box automatically, but this clearly can't be done,
both from what I can see and what you all can. Thanks though for all the
 help.

Under tools, options look for the check box that says send and receive on
startup. A couple further along is a box that says check for new messages
every. Tab one more time to an edit field and type in a number. The
 default
 is 30 minutes.
