Just compact the folders manually, here's how:
Go to the file menu, and then to the folders sub-menu,
 and press enter on compact all folders.
You are done
That message will pop-up every 100 times you open Outlook Express.

When o.e wants me to compact things, and when I click ok,
I get the famous annoying bing noise and a message that the folder is 
already in use
(what folder, I couldn't say (it doesn't specify)).
Is there something I can do about this, short of trading in my computer for 
a Mac, which is Definitely in the cards when this thing goes South
Thanks in advance.
Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional!

routine?
