Re: [Blind-Computing] can't remove the Google tool bar
Hi Rosemarie, Give this a try: In internet explorer, go to tools, and then manage add-ons. Find the google toolbar in the list, and disable it, then try removing it from add/remove programs. It's been a long time since I've had to uninstall it, so I don't remember if I had any particular problems. Sometimes when you can't remove an item from add/remove programs, it is because it is running, and must be shut down first. Re: [Blind-Computing] can't remove the Google tool bar
Rosemarie, if memory serves, when I had this problem, it was installed accidentally when I was on the adobe site upgrading adobe reader. Maybe I had to get rid of it through that site. marilyn For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/

Re: [Blind-Computing] can't remove the Google tool bar
Even if you can get it successfully removed, I have found that it gets installed again and gets enabled, even if you are being diligent! I just gave up and stopped attempting to remove it. I just keep it disabled by making sure it is unchecked in the Toolbars submenu of the View menu. At least this way it stays disabled. I guess that way Google can still watch everything you do! paranoid Don Marang - Original Message - From: ROSEMARIE CHAVARRIA knitqueen2...@verizon.net To: blind-computing@jaws-users.com Sent: Sunday, November 15, 2009 11:02 PM Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] can't remove the Google tool bar Hi, Jim, I just tried and I'm having the same problem. Re: [Blind-Computing] can't remove the Google tool bar
No, you could do a system restore, and it would go away. Do you know when you got the tool bar? If so, restore your computer to the day before, and it will go away. smile.
