Patricia, this old dog's brain path was attunedd to solving abstract

Patricia, it is my understanding that the VRS Library version has an
attachable cartridge holder that enables use of a cartridge, but what do I
know. I guess my old brain will have to learn about cards, slots, thumb
drives and lots of other stuff if I want the portability. Thanks again.

Wayne, my downloads go directly to "My Documents " as folders. I'll fiddle

Hi, all: Since I'm fairly new to downloading, extracting and putting
books

on my nls cartridge, I have some questions: Each book I unzip and place on
the cartridge shows up in another folder witih its title even thought I
have

sent it to the cartridge. I would like to just have a my documents folder
called books. So I made a folder called books but don't know how to make
the various titles move to that folder. Also, there is still a list of
these books witih the .zip extension. Should I keep these even thought
they

appear on the unzipped list? Thanks. I have gone through some various
instructions from listers but haven't found an answer to either of these.
Thanks. Marilyn

2010-06-04 Thread Patricia

Cartridge attachment for the stream??

It comes with one 2/gb SD card, that long cable to hook to the computer, a
short one for hooking to a thumb drive, but the stream does not use the
cartridges as the nls player does.

I do not have speakers and hear it just fine without headset, but it's your
choice.

Also for me since my pc is older like me,lol hehehehe, it didn't come with a
card reader. I had to get one of those because the long cable download was a
royal pain in the you know where, lol

But the long cable with the male/female ends on it which is what it's
called, attaches to one of the blank cartridges for the nls player right
nicely and downlowads fast, but the stream's seems to be very slow for some
reason, so i don't use that just the card reader.

Haven't used my Kingston Data Traveler thumb drive yet, it's 4/gb and the
stream has that shorter plug to hook that up to it, and the nls has a USB
slot on the side of the machine.

Re: [Blind-Computing] how move a document folder

2010-06-04 Thread Patricia

I do have a victor reader, used it today in fact on the bus..

But I love the nls player that's one fine machine!

Did you do the upgrade to the stream?

You do not have to keep the .zip books in your docs or anywhere else for
that matter.
I download a ton of books, but don't unzip them all at once, just a few to
read and then unzip more and delete what I've already read.

Ok, Patricia. Do I need to keep that extra list of books, each a folder,
that don't have the .zip extension? In other words, they are laready
extracted. Do you have a victor reader stream? I'm already sick of the
clunky nls reader because it is not very portable and makes one of my
favorite readers sound awful. Whine, whine. marilyn

Hi Marilyn,

You can press the shift key and down arrow to the books you want to move to
the folder once they are selected that is..
Press control c/ to copy or control/x to cut and then open the folder and
press control/v to paste them there.
Alternatively, you can choose to have them downloaded directly into that
folder when you start the download process, tab to where you save them at

docs highlight it, tab to the save button. All the downloads now will go
into the folder.
I suggest you keep the zipped book on your hard drive just in case if your
reading it and something messes up during the read, you can unzip it again
without having to go back to the sorce you got it from. But it's up to you..

Thanks. Marilyn
