[Blind-Computing] i e 6 problem

2011-11-03 Thread Jim Redding
I'm having an issue where i e 6 won't open a lot of web sites. They will
open if I use Fire fox of most any version. Can anyone tell me why and if
there is a fix with i e 6?
thanks
Jim

Hi Jim,

It's probably just too outdated.

Upgrade at least to internet explorer 7, but preferably to version
eight.

Regards,

Riana

If you cannot upgrade to a newer version of IE and the webpages you
need to access do not work with ie, open them in firefox instead. If
you are running win 2k still, at least firefox 3.6 and 4.0 will work
on win 2k. Not sure about later versions of firefox.

Yeah, I really think you are going to have to abandon ie6 at some point.

If FireFox or google chrome wont work either, you may want to try WebbIe, a
very basic but rather rugged web browser. It can be downloaded from
http://www.webbie.org.uk/

Thanks.

Hi, Jim,

Your best bet would be to upgrade to IE 7 or 8 if it's possible. If you have
firefox, open your sites with that. I personally like firefox better because
it's so much faster than internet explorer.

Hi, Jim,

If upgrading isn't an option, maybe you could try web IE. I don't know of
another browser other than firefox or chrome.

I just got this new computer three months ago and it has IE 8 on it but my
favorite browser is firefox. I just downloaded the newest version of it last
week and it's quite fast.
