Most routers these days come standard with WPA  or WPA/2 for example and yes 
they are more secure than WEP, but WEP is better than nothing so the saying 
goes.

The router that I have now is through my cable company it is a wep security
with a password that they gave it, but I have no access to it as far as
property and such, is a wep not as secure as others.
