Hi Marvin, I'm going to give you a couple of solutions, and either should work. 1) You can still use some of the old Word 2003 shortcut keys. First select all the text you want in the list. Second, type Alt + O, wait a second, type N, and the Bullets and Numbering dialog will open. Hit Ctrl + Tab to get to the Numbered Tab/Page. Then hit the Tab key once to get the focus on the list of options (the first should be None). Then hit right arrow once to get to the first 1 2 3 format, in which each arrow is followed by a period. To select it as is, hit Enter. Or, if you would like to format it some more, hit Alt + T (the Define New Number Format dialog will open allowing to choose the number style, the format (whether to have a period or parenthesis follow each number), and alignment.) 2) Another way is to follow the new Word 2007 key commands. Alt, H, N. You will then hear list box. Hit right arrow once to get to the first 1 2 3 format, in which each arrow is followed by a period. Hit right arrow again for the 1 2 3 format where each arrow is followed by a right parenthesis. Hope this helps! Open the tools menu with alt T and press ENTER on autocorrect. Press CTRL-TAB to access the autoformat as you type tab. Arrow down and uncheck automatic bulleted lists and automatic numbered lists. Enter on okay. You can also hit the backspace at the beginning of the line it auto numbered or auto lettered to remove it and temporarily turn off automatic number and lettering.
