Thanks Hamid for having tested this on Win7 and you're welcome.
Actually, this works on all NT-based systems as it directly links to a built-in applet.

In fact, the easiest way would be to create a shortcut to Add or Remove Applet on your start menu or your desktop so that you don't have to go to the Control Panel to hunt it out. Just go to your desktop, press CTRL+Spacebar to remove a default highlight on any icon there. After this, press your Applications key, arrow to New submenu: right arrow to open the submenu. Here find "Shortcut" and activate it by pressing Enter. A dialog box will appear asking you for the location of the shortcut: type in "appwiz.cpl" without any quotes. Click Next: you will be asked for the name of the shortcut. Type "Add or Remove Programs" or any name which you can memorise. Then click Finish.
From now on, you will have Add or Remove shortcut on your desktop.
You can copy this shortcut to your Start menu folder so that you will see this on your Start Menu as well. This also can be accomplished by simply highlighting the newly-created shortcut on the desktop and go to "Pin to Start menu" and you're done. This also means you can choose to create a custom hotkey to quickly open Add or Remove Programs: the choices are endless once you have the shortcut.

Let me also state that this can be done to link to any applet in the control panel and not just the Add or Remove applet: you simply must know the name of the applet to do this trick.

Cheers,

Ishe

Definitely it works on windows seven as well! I've just tried it after Ishe sent the information and it worked! Thanks Ishe a lot.

Ish, that's pretty neat, Man. Will it work with Windows 7?
I doubt it. But it's so easy just to type uninstall a program in the Search
field.
Nice little trick.

Hi Rosemarie

Perhaps by the time you will get this message someone else will have helped
you out: but if not, here we go:

1. Click Start.
2. Then go to Run...
3. In the edit field, type this string

appwiz.cpl

and press the enter key.

The Add or Remove dialog will appear. You can then do the remove operation
or any other maintenance job related to this applet.

However, if you are worried about this applet not appearing in the control panel list, this could probably due to some other settings you inadvertently
made, but in the meantime let's proceed this way and see the result.

Hope this helps.

Ishe

Subject: [Blind-Computing] can't find the add or remove in the
control panel

Hi, everyone,

I wanted to remove something from my computer but now I can't. When I
go into settings and then control pannel, it only shows me four
listings. I just see accessibility options, wireless network, games
and regional language or something like that. How do I correct this

problem?

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

Rosemarie
