Hi Marilyn,
It sounds like you have a product from Creative Labs on your machine,
such as a Soundblaster soundcard.

Hi, experts. Does anyone know what Creative Diagnostics is and why it is
on

my computer? I wonder whether or not this is something that came bundled
into xp. It is on my system tray. I'd like to uninstall it if it is just
a

worthless add on. marilyn

I think quick time has to do with Real player?

I have the same sound card and do not have that showing in my system's tray.

Rick, you're a genius. Yes, I do have a Soundblaster sound car. Mystery
solved. I'll leave it alone. There's another one on the computer called
Quik Time and I have no idea what it is or where it came from. I don't
use I Tunes which is what someone suggested may be the connection.

Hi Marilyn,
QuickTime is a player for Apple related media.
Personally, I remove it from my systems,
since I don't use I tunes or the like.

Quick Time is a product for Windows and the Mack OS to play audio. If you
don't want it or if you don't know how to use it, its save to remove it.

Rick, it appeared only in the system tray so to get rid of QuikTime I went
to the context menu and hit exit. Now it is gone from the system tray,
hooray. Thanks. marilyn

If you want it completely gone from your computer, and you don't need
it for a program such as ITunes, like someone else said, it's not a
required application for Windows, and I think it takes up a good bit
of space. You can uninstall it using add-remove programs in your
control panel, as you would any other program.

I'm scratching my head, wondering why quicktime wasn't in the control panel
but was on the system tray anyway. Just another wierd computer happening of
which I seem to have more than my share. marilyn
