That it is sir,

This has a 5 and a half horse Honda engine and weighs 200 lb. You can get a
water kit for it but since I don't intend to be tamping hot bituminous
materials like asphalt I didn't order that.

is your shut off frozen open in the house or outside ? if it is
outside your town or /city might take care of that. one hint about the
one inside is to get that fixed and once you do mark it down on the
calander to maybe twice or three times a year slowly turn it all the
way off and then slowly back on. . Lee

Well, while on the subject I just ordered a Bomag walk-behind vibratory plate
compactor with wheel kit and protective pad for patio stone. They are a lot
more expensive here than I see them priced in the States. Hopefully I can sell

Now I have to arrange a ride to go buy a bunch of retaining wall blocks and
about 3000 square feet of lock stone.

Hello Brice,

I have that very same router. Their support page is pretty good and I have
used their Network Magic software. The basic Network Magic is free and has
worked good. They also have online chat support from their web page which I
have used in the past.

Re: [BlindHandyMan] help needed

2009-06-16 Thread Trouble
you can take the tool they give and connect the laptop with ease, or
you can go into the router and turn on encryption and right down the
key it gives you. Then all you have to do is plug in the info when
you click connect to the SSID that your router broadcasts.
you will have to use a cable with the tool, but it does the
connection very nice and in only a few minutes. it secures the router
and sets up the wireless connection.

Re: [BlindHandyMan] New toy.

2009-06-16 Thread wstephan
Speaking of new toys

I recently bought the talking level and the tactile tape measure from
Blindmicemart.com, and though I haven't had time to play with them yet, they
look OK. I also bought the talking tire pressure gauge I mentioned, and that
is really handy, since the pressure in my garden cart tires was way way lower
than it should have been. I got the multimeter we talked about here as well,
and after I scan the little bit of documentation there is, I'll doubtless have
questions for the luminarians on this great List.

I've been having trouble finding Schrader valves, though they do have them on
Amazon.com if you're willing to pay four times the value of the valve for
shipping.
I was told that the reason these are more scarce than in the past is that
unless you have a license, you can't buy refrigerant any longer, and that was
why say lumber yards used to have them but tend not to unless they trade with a
lot of refrigeration contractors.
I have a friend at work who's a good guy and pretty handy and tomorrow at
lunch we're going to go to an industrial hardware store on the north side of
the Missouri River where I know I can get them.
Enjoy your sawdust Dan, it's always great to get new tools etc.

[BlindHandyMan] New toy.

2009-06-16 Thread Dan Rossi
I just ordered one of those spiffy sounding Bosch Colt Palm routers, along
with the edge guide and a set of seven templates. The router and edge
guide were $109 bucks from amazon with free shipping. The templates and a
round subbase for threaded template guides was another 40 bucks. Probably
didn't need the rest, but threw it in there for the hell of it.

The 109 bucks for the router and edge guide was the best I found other
than a refurb unit on CPO Bosch.

Can't wait to make some saw dust with it.

Re: [BlindHandyMan] painting glass

2009-06-16 Thread Jennifer Jackson
I think this would work very well. They recommend that kind of thing on the
home shows all the time. Lenny, maybe you and the handy grandson could
volunteer for the job. Pick up a couple of vases and give it a little
experimental spraying.

  Aloha Lenny,
I think that your wife may very well be correct on this one. The
painting could be very time consuming and troublesome. What about
buying some color that is kind of neutral, beige or something, and
covering them with fabric. We did this exact thing for a wedding. The
fabric can be glued on and removed if needed later. Usually you can
get remnants pretty cheap at a fabric store. Or, maybe there is some
fabric left over from the dresses if they are being made.
And where is my invitation? Grin...

Besides, it will say on the container if the paint can be used on glass. I
agree that the best way to go would be spray paint if there's a suitable area
for it.
