[BlindHandyMan] Needle threader

2010-04-14 Thread Greg Roggeman
My wife works at a non-profit organization called Service Club for the Blind
here in St. Louis. She says they have loads of needle threaders that they
give to members free of charge. She said that anyone interested can email
her their address and she will send one out no charge. She can send them to
any country, too. :-)

These are the type with the diamond shaped wire with the metal disk to hold
on to.

Just send your address to:

Lisa Roggeman

l...@roggeman.com

Cheers,

--Greg

Hi Andy here in Salem, MA. I could use one of those. Every so often, I
have to sew a button or something but, have tons of trouble with the needle.
I have used the Buttonare, which is a fastener type of button . There's no
sewing but, it is not as good as the old time sewing. Please send me one of
these.

Let me know what I need to send you to cover your postage and time. Thanks
so very much. Andy

RE: [BlindHandyMan] Garbage disposal

2010-03-21 Thread Greg Roggeman
Wow, $54 per month?

We also do it the old fashioned way but the cost is covered by our property
taxes. They pick it up twice a week, Monday and Thursday, and they pick up
yard waste on Wednesdays. I don't mind paying the taxes with services like
this.

Cheers,
Greg

in our house we are still behind the times so our garbaged disposal
works like this. I tie up the bag to be disposed of, then go outside
and put it in the big bucket and then on a thursday night take it down
to the street for $54 a month. Lee

With our oven, removing the drawer on the bottom allows cleaning the floor
under it.

Can you sweep them out with a long stick or maybe a flattened cardboard
tube? Maybe a straightened out clothes hanger with some stiff paper taped to
one end?
