Re: [BlindHandyMan] saving parts from a Dodge Caravan.
A friend of mine always says, if you can take it out with a screw driver, and it doesn't take more than 10 minutes to remove it, then go for it and salvage anything you can. Grin. Seriously, from what I hear, the first thing to go on one of those beasts is the transmission. If you can salvage it from the other one, and it works fine, I think this would be something worth removing, as replacing it could get very costly, as opposed to the time cost it would take to remove the old one. Just a thought. [BlindHandyMan] saving parts from a Dodge Caravan.
My friend has a Dodge Caravan at my place and he is going to scrap it. It is about a 1990 or 91. I offered to take off a few parts that he could put up in his garage for future use since he has other vans that are about the same year and model. Any thoughts on what I could save for him? I am not going to go as far as pulling the motor or the tranny or the wire harness. What I am thinking is parts like the starter, alternater, and maybe the power stearing pump. How about the coil pack I want to salvage what I can for him but again I don't intend on this being a major project. Any thoughts are welkcome.
