However, there was a site which has no user. Suddenly this morning, all web sites of the server could not be seen excepting control page. I deleted the non-user-site, and I did reboot. Then all web sites can be seen now. I feel like the problem is not the only in proftpd. [BlueOnyx:10604] sendmail blacklist
Hi, I have 5 sendmail blacklists configured through the gui. Since a few days I notice a lot more spam coming thru; it turned out that none of the blacklists were listed in a sendmail config file. I disabled and re-enabaled each one of them, and now they are again being checked. Could it be that a recent update disabled these? And can it happen again during a future update? -- Maurice de Laat ___ Blueonyx mailing list Blueonyx@mail.blueonyx.it http://mail.blueonyx.it/mailman/listinfo/blueonyx

I think the missing piece of information may be this: Edit /etc/xinetd.d/swat, because typically it has this info in it: [root@d1 ~]# cat /etc/xinetd.d/swat # default: off # description: SWAT is the Samba Web Admin Tool. Use swat \ # to configure your Samba server. To use SWAT, \ # connect to port 901 with your favorite web browser. service swat { port= 901 socket_type = stream wait= no only_from = 127.0.0.1 user= root server = /usr/sbin/swat log_on_failure += USERID disable = yes } So it is disabled by default and even if it were enabled, it would only allow access from 127.0.0.1 You may want to change the line "only_from" from 127.0.0.1 to the IP that you allow access to SWAT from. Additionally change "disable = yes" to "disable = no". Then restart xinetd (/etc/init.d/xinetd restart) and you should be able to access SWAT at the usual URL: http://server-ip:901/ -- With best regards Michael Stauber ___ Blueonyx mailing list Blueonyx@mail.blueonyx.it http://mail.blueonyx.it/mailman/listinfo/blueonyx
[BlueOnyx:10602] Samba on 5107R
Hi All, I have loaded Samba and Swatt on a BO 5107r fresh install Dev in house server for development purposes and all has gone well other then I can get Apache to serve up HTML pages but *will not serve* PHP pages in the /var/www/html/. I have checked the logs but does not seem to be reporting any thing on this. I have spent most part of the last 24 hours google ing for any advice but have not found a straight forward anwcerhas any one completed this and may have any pointers or notes to advise...thx much -- Best Regards, Jon McCauley ___ Blueonyx mailing list Blueonyx@mail.blueonyx.it http://mail.blueonyx.it/mailman/listinfo/blueonyx

FYI This also worked for the issue I was having: Would the recent update to ProFTP on the 5106R cause me to get a connect error the 1st time I connect to a site that I havent connected to in a while? I get a: Failed to receive response after connect Host type (1): Automatic Detect When using wsftp on port 21. If I try again it connects. If I close wsftp and come back I get the same sequence. I never had this issue before. I reboot does not clear it up. On the other 4 servers all running same BO and same exact hardware this is not happening. The thing I don't understand is why it is only on the one server. The only thing I can possibly think of is that this is the 1st server I put BO on and I had ran it locally for a while and used the ftp locally (ie through 192.168.1.200) before making it live. Howie, you could have a look at http://www.qsc.de/ It is a business ISP in Germany and can offer the things you need. I'm currently with Demon Internet in the UK and have 13 fixed IP's on a Business package, running a number of servers from home. In the next few months I'm moving to Germany (Rommerskirchen, just west of Koeln/Dusseldorf) I need to find a reasonable ISP that offers Fixed IP's / blocks on a home / business package that doesn't cost an "arm and a leg" I would like a min of 5 IP's (1 for the home network and 2 each for 2x servers) Can anyone help with suggestions of companies?
