List On The Brink?
Okay, what the hell is going on? For various reasons, I haven't been reading Brin-L much lately, but today I came back and scanned through the messages, only to find that Jeroen has become some kind of Typhoid Mary who has to be censored from the list for its own protection, or something. It isn't very clear. What did he do to get himself totally banned? If you don't want to discuss this matter on-list any further I understand, but if that's so could someone please tell me what's going on in a private Email? Because frankly, I'm confused, or to be more accurate, stunned, as to how this situation came about. Jeroen is a long time list member. Yes, his continual campaign to avenge any and all slights to his honour is annoying, but even at his off-list, spamming worst I still find him *orders of magnitude* less annoying than some trolls of the recent past. (Hiya, Wilbur07. Nice to see you're still here.) From the peanut gallery, it looks like Jeroen's recent activities (IE: threatening lawsuits, forging return addresses, and what not) are semi-hysterical responses to his posts being moderated in the first place, and that's what I don't understand. Yes, his conduct has been pretty lousy lately, but why did the list-owners, moderators, or whatever they're called, drive him to do it in the first place? Why have you been pushing his buttons?
