Isn't he in Lynchburg, VA?  Or am I thinking of some other annoying
televangelist who got nabbed by the IRS for back taxes and went on TV,
begging for donations, on a day that I happened to be visiting my
grandmother in Lynchburg and had breakfast with one of her friends who
had seen him and who was somewhat gleeful about the situation?  Or has
he maybe moved since then (this would have been in the '82-'85
timeframe)?

I'd just like to take this opportunity to reiterate my stance that
Indians are no threat to the world at large. 
To each other, yes.
But that's a separate issue altogether. :)
