When I am an old Jedi I shall wield purple With a red cloak which doesn't go into battle, and doesn't suit me. And I shall use the Force on brandy and summer loves And satin sandals, and say we can't stand talk style Yoda. I shall sit down in strange bars when I'm tired and gobble up samples from Trade Federation shops And run my lightsabre along the public railings And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall fight bounty hunters in the rain And levitate flowers in other people's gardens And learn to spit. You can wear oil stained cloaks and grow more wise And eat three pounds of sausages at a go served by robot waitresses or four armed cooks. And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in swamps. But now we must have clothes that keep us dry And follow the council and not swear in the street. And set a good example for the padawan. We will have friends to dinner and float the pears. But maybe I ought to practice a little now? So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised When suddenly I am old and start to wield purple. And cursed be he that makes me spell. _______________________________________________ http://www.mccmedia.com/mailman/listinfo/brin-l
