If I go to Savannah, without moving in, I get this : cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonym...@cvs.savannah.gnu.org:/sources/gnubg co gnubg So there's nothing to worry about. I don't think that's quite what they suggested. I took them to mean SourceForge must use your username in that command because you need to give it back to SourceForge when you do a checkout using CVS. -- Cheers, Ralph. ___ Bug-gnubg mailing list Bug-gnubg@gnu.org https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-gnubg
[Bug-gnubg] My user name in download commands
Hello, I recently came across the Savannah page of a project [0] in which my Savannah user name is used in the commands to download their repositories: cvs -z3 -d:ext:d...@cvs.savannah.gnu.org:/sources/gnubg co gnubg cvs -z3 -d:ext:d...@cvs.savannah.gnu.org:/sources/gnubg co cvs -z3 -d:ext:d...@cvs.savannah.gnu.org:/web/gnubg co gnubg I asked the maintainers of the project, and they suggested it may have to do with some job Savannah did while I was logged in, picking up my user name. Not that this is likely to have any transcendental consequences for me, but still. Wouldn't it be more appropriate to use a generic name for the examples, such as 'username' instead of mine? Happy hacking!
