[bug #18412] ugly empty windows popping up

2008-01-19 Thread Fred Kiefer

Follow-up Comment #4, bug #18412 (project gnustep):

Richard added code to move the test windows outside the screen. (Doesn't work
on KDE)
In most cases this issue should be resolved now.

[bug #18412] ugly empty windows popping up

2007-08-15 Thread Fred Kiefer

Update of bug #18412 (project gnustep):

  Status:None => In Progress
 Assigned to:None => FredKiefer
 Open/Closed:Open => In Test

Follow-up Comment #3:

With a new feature of EWMH I was able to improve on this a bit. On a window
manager that supports _NET_REQUEST_FRAME_EXTENTS we wont need to display the
temporary windows.

[bug #18412] ugly empty windows popping up

2006-12-09 Thread Riccardo mottola

Follow-up Comment #2, bug #18412 (project gnustep):

No, unfortunately I don't have a better solution. Caching should be fine and
today it seems to work here, when I reported the bug, each application seemed
to rerun the test again. Maybe it depends if the application is started form
consoel, fron the toolbar or the gworkspace tab. or how and when the gnustep
environment is sourced.. If I can make the problem more reproducable I'll
follow-up

[bug #18412] ugly empty windows popping up

2006-11-29 Thread Richard Frith-Macdonald

Update of bug #18412 (project gnustep):

Severity:  3 - Normal => 2 - Minor

___

Follow-up Comment #1:

This is a fix to bug #17717
I find it ugly too, so I made sure it only happens once (caching the results
in the X server) per login, but I don't know of a better (or any other)
solution.
Any improvements would be very welcome!

Noticed the same for the last few weeks, though it doesn't always
happen.
I _think_ it only happens when you launch the first application. After
that, it's working fine.
