Yep, that was it. False alarm, this isn't a bug in Guile after
all.

I wouldn't want to see Guile's string-index changed or removed.
SLIB should probably rename its function like it is on your
system.

Thanks.

Missing file when installing guile

2001-11-27 Thread root

When I run make on guile it quits with the message
make[1]: *** [net_db.lo] Error 1

I checked /usr/include/arpa/inet.h and discovered that
the net_db.lo and socket.lo in the library list are missing
from libltdl directory.

How do I fix this? I can't find a site with the
individual files not packaged to see if they're supposed
to be there.

Actually, the # suggests it's
from strsrch.scm in SLIB. Strangely enough, in the Debian SLIB package
that I'm using, string-index was renamed to strsrch:string-index, so I
can't duplicate your problem.

It seems that either SLIB or Guile's SLIB support should be changed, but
I'm not sure how.

OK, so what is it? That's the only other sting-index i could
find.

Yes, and it isn't even _used_ by format.scm. But the string-index
from format.scm is probably not the problem here since it is not
exported from (ice-9 format).

i see the same behavior on my guile, but it doesn't bother me because
normally, boot-9.scm is loaded automatically as a part of guile startup;
i've never needed to load it manually.

Error while loading "boot-9.scm"

2001-11-27 Thread john lin

Hello there,

After installing Guile-1.4. I am having the following
error:

(guile-install-dir) > guile
guile> (load "share/guile/1.4/ice-9/boot-9.scm")
ERROR: In procedure hash_fn_get_handle:
ERROR: Wrong type of argument in position 1: #f
ABORT: (wrong-typ-arg)
guile>

"hash_fn_get_handle" seems to be defined in "C" code
and I do not know how calls reach that point.

Is this a series problem? Is there a way to get around
of this. Please advise. Thanks

John Lin
