The second one (after the appogiatura note) is the one that should

Please contact the author of the festival stuff about this.

OK, he has just answered me. Turns out it was definitely *not* a
duplicate, but was meant to checked if the two output files would look
the same despite minor changes in the code.

As for the festival-lilypond development, he seems to be waiting that
the Festival application itself is a bit more mature (they're delaying
their next stable release too :)

I have made a mistake, as the file was committed without a texidoc
header, but it may test valuable behavior.

I'll commit some texidoc explanations... as soon as I manage to get my
rsa pubkey accepted by git.

Regards,
Valentin

Can you post what is not working?

Issue 519 in lilypond: PDF filesize has increased between 1.9.8 and 2.10

2008-01-07 Thread codesite-noreply

Issue 519: PDF filesize has increased between 1.9.8 and 2.10
http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=519

Comment #7 by hanwenn:
everyone is getting very confused here.

The issue is that (except for the music fonts, and the Century
Schoolbook), the fonts
that lilypond embeds is platform dependent. eg.if you use a sans font,
it will go to
/usr/share/fonts/ (linux) /Library/Fonts (mac) or \WINDOWS\FONTS to
find an

appropriate font.

Hence, if you use chord names (which use a sans font), you will get
different PDFs

across platforms.

the question is: should we bother to include a standard sans font? It
would blow the

installer by probably 0.5 Mb

It could be that Verdana (windows) is larger than Vera Sans (linux),
but I am not sure.

Yes, I know. But putting the grace note outside of the repeat block
does not work either, so I don't know what to do. Since this prevents
any correct typesetting, it's not just an issue (that could be worked around),
it's a show-stopper for me.

Do you have any suggestion as to how I could achieve a proper typesetting?

Thanks,
Raphael

Joe,

Can you have a look? The cluster code does not trigger vertical
positioning of the

staves.

Please read again. It's not a matter of putting grace notes inside or
outside a
repeat block. You have to add invisible grace notes of exactly the same
duration

in all staves.

I know you approved me, and I thank you for that; it's just that for
some strange reason the ssh access is still denied (I asked Graham and
John but I didn't want to bother you with it ;)

Here's what I wrote them:

OK, I have now been added to git but I can't use it. I registered a
public rsa key, a public dsa key, everything I could think of, I have
followed very carefully the tutorials, such as
http://savannah.gnu.org/maintenance/UsingGit _but_ when I try to push

Permission denied (publickey).
fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly

What the heck?

Try logging in manually first. You may need to approve the host SHA1
once.

Thank you David. I have no idea how to manually log in, and neither
do I know how to approve the SHA1 sum (where do I find it? etc).

Can you be more specific? I'm a total newbie :)

ssh hostname

If you are a total newbie, additional possibilities are that you are
messing up your private and public keys, or using the wrong files to
keep them.

Ooops. Yes, of course! That works. Somehow I rememebered that there was
a wrong time administration with grace notes but I mistakenly remembered
that it was linked to the presence of the grace note in the repeat block.

Thanks a lot for clarifying.

The problem was, I had an old obsolete ~/.ssh/known-hosts file that I
