Just for the record, +foo doesn't work anymore, use "foo" in quotes.  The  
updated search would be:

https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Alilypond.org+%22v2.12%22+frogs

I've not done anything about this for a while - been looking at other  
stuff.  It's on my list of possible things to resurrect, but if someone  
else wants to fix it - fine with me,

I am not aware of any definitive answer about making a google search for  
this.  I would be surprised if it could not be done.

Hi,

what's the status of this?
I guess that having two search boxes isn't the best idea, but from the  
discussion i wasn't able to figure out if it's possible to have our current  
search box find things in stable docs and website.

That's exactly what my 2-search-box patch does, and this bug is why I wrote  
it.  Perhaps I should have labelled this started...

This may be of interest to Phil.  BTW, searching for the "website" tag  
might show some interesting old discussions.


Can we make google search in both lilypond.org (excluding unstable docs)  
and stable docs?  There's clearly a bunch of stuff that somebody should  
look into with regards to the google searching.

Jan Warchoł has just made an interesting discovery: using the search bar on  
the website to look up, for instance, for "frogs"... doesn't return any  
results!

The reason, of course, is that the search bar is supposed to work only with  
the latest stable documentation... However, the unfortunate side-effect is  
that it prevents the website from being included in search results.


Although a lot of useful material is to be found in the docs (obviously),  
we should also assume that users may want to find stuff on the website.
