For clarification, there's a few ways of going about this.
1) (long-term) send a bug report to the texi2html team
2) (short-term) add a function to lilypond-texi2html.init that fixes this

estimate that it'll be around 10 lines of code.

I stand by my "2 hours" estimate, although I should have clarified that  
it's "2 hours

for somebody who knows git and perl".

If you have some skill in Perl and reading spaghetti code, look in  
Texi2HTML script

(not in LilyPond sources, but it's a dependency for building docs).

I abandoned any attempt at fixing it, because my brain is not trained  
enough at

navigating in spaghetti code.

BTW I changed the subject, because it has nothing to do with the docs being  
offline

or online.
