I pushed some changes just now that allowed the Windows port to compile
and run tests using Visual Studio.  I didn't check with clang-cl.

There are still 7 tests that fail on Windows, looking at them it's all
due to different output generated on Windows in failure situations.

i read that article several times and indeed found it interesting.
In fact, i was using the technique described in your article, until my use
cases forced me to come up with the technique described here.
