Some of this logic has been improved in 2.0.37... including some of the win32
mpm code and the mod_proxy code. Please test again and provide feedback.
If you can be more specific [error messages at LogLevel debug] about what
precisely is wrong in this specific configuration, we may be able to reopen
  and address this report.

2.0.37 should be out by next week.

I'm going to go ahead and say that's almost certainly what it is. I've
recreated a directory with contents very similar to what you've specified on a
Unix box, and autoindex performs flawlessly. Besides, the corruption occurs at
random spots in a given line (ie, sometimes it's the name of an icon that gets
corrupted, somtimes it's a tag, etc)... and that particular code is platform-
independent. If you can reproduce this under any OS other than WinXP, feel
free to reopen this...

Well ignore my earlier comments. rotatelogs fails with CONSOLE input
if the BUFSIZE is larger than 30704 bytes (0x77F0)... whatever that magic
number means. Unfortuately, it fails with ERROR_NOT_ENOUGH_MEMORY, which
MS mentions only in passing as a possible async issue, which this is not.

Rotatelogs is working with piped input from another application (such as
  Apache piped logs.)

  Using a trivial example,

  CustomLog |bin/rotatelogs.exe logs/test_host.log 15 common

  or just for fun,

CustomLog '|bin/wintty.exe -t Apache Access Log' common

everything seems in order again for the 2.0.37 release.

I have taken the file structure that causes the failure on Windows XP and moved
it to another server running Debian GNU/Linux 'Woody' with Apache 1.3.24

The problem does not occur.

It will take a few minutes but I will do the same with an NT 4.0 Server running
Apache 1.2.36. I should be able to back level the Apache on this server as
well. These are all 'play' servers anyways.

Hope to incorporate this fix into the forthcoming 2.0.37 release, we will
now accept 64kb of output to stderr and 64kb of output to stdout while
still sending client body over stdin. This matches Linux defaults, which
is as good as we will get without true polling between the connection and
  all three cgi pipes.

Missing start menu items

   Summary: Missing start menu items
   Product: Apache httpd-2.0
   Version: 2.0.36
  Platform: PC
OS/Version: Windows XP
Status: NEW
  Severity: Normal
  Priority: Other
 Component: Core
AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

After installing Apache the Control Apache Server menu only contains Start
Apache in Console and Monitor Apache Servers. The restart and shutdown
options (from previous versions) are not present.

I installed Apache on a per-user basis. I only changed DocumentRoot and Listen
(from 8080 to 80).

Another problem with the MSI installer is that if I ask it to install Apache as
a service for all users on port 80, it's actually installed as a service on
port 8080.
