UserDir maps to root directory for nonexistant users

--- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2002-08-02 01:43 ---
I have seen this problem reported once before on Solaris 8 using GCC 2.95.3.
The developers have been unable to reproduce the problem, but the person
who reported it said that it went away if they compiled with optimization
turned off (-O0).

In general, I believe that this problem can only be the result of a seriously
misperforming compiler/library. Apache just uses a normal syscall to see
if the user exists. But since this is a potentially serious security problem,
I won't close the report until some of the developers get a chance to look
at it.

ProxyPreserveHost directive does not preserve port

Summary: ProxyPreserveHost directive does not preserve port
   Product: Apache httpd-2.0
   Version: 2.0.39
  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: Normal
  Priority: Other
 Component: mod_proxy
AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

When using directive
ProxyPreserveHost On
the host (HTTP_HOST as well as SERVER_NAME) is preserved in the header, but
not the port.

The following directive
ProxyPass /foo/ http://foo:8080/
des not preserve the SERVER_PORT in the header but replace it with 8080.

Recommandation :
- preserve the port or
- create a ProxyPreservePort directive or
- create a ProxyPreserveHeader directive that will preserve all. (Because at a
time some may need also to preserve SERVER_PROTOCOL or other. In most cases, I
think that when you want to preserve a field in the header, you want to
preserve all fields.

send_file function does not work correctly on AIX 4.3.3.0 64 bits

Summary: send_file function does not work correctly on AIX
4.3.3.0 64 bits
   Product: APR
   Version: HEAD
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: AIX
Status: NEW
  Severity: Normal
  Priority: Other
 Component: APR
AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Using Apache 2.0.39 on AIX 4.3.3.0 64 bits. The send_file() give the errno '22'
(invalid parameter) if the file is equal or bigger than 318 KB.
On this system Apache has compiled using gcc 2.95.3 without binutils package.
Linker, assembler and ar is coming from AIX distribution.
To compile apache flags '-maix64' should be set for the compiler and the linker.
To use ar and nm tools, you should specify '-X64' before other flags.
The workaround is to specify that you don't want to use sendfile api.

Your idea that these messages might be the standard error output
of some cgi script was a good one, and indeed you were right.
I am terribly sorry for having reported it as a bug.
