The proper way is to use httpd -k stop or apachectl -k stop. This should run all

This is really a mod_webapp issue since you're going to have to tweak
the mod_webapp build to fix this. I'm changing the product/component
as appropriate so you can get better assistance.

Here are some hints though.

This is a gcc issue that happens sometimes even with Apache-provided DSOs.
You need to get libgcc.a linked into the DSO by adding something like
this to the link invocation:

  -L/directory/containing/libgcc.a -lgcc

I think you can do that by editing the mod_webapp makefile and adding the
two -L and -l options to their apxs -c invocation.

If they don't use apxs -c to perform the link, you'll need to ask advice
on where to add those options.

During one of these intervals you need to see what the Apache child processes
are doing. For Solaris, pstack can get backtraces, truss can show system calls
being issued. For Linux there is a pstack which may or may not work, but
certainly gdb will be able to display backtraces, and strace can show system
calls being issued.

Hopefully some digging with such tools will give hints on what the processes are
doing.

--- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-02-26 18:54 ---

Actually, there was a small logic error related to the way that some
calls were processed in send_response_header. We believe the new code
is cleaner, but it may or may not resolve your issue altogether.

If you are building Apache yourself, please replace your mod_isapi.c module
  with the current CVS available from;

http://cvs.apache.org/viewcvs.cgi/*checkout*/httpd-2.0/modules/arch/win32/mod_isapi.c?rev=1.88.2.2

And let us know if the error remains. I suspect it does.

One thing you mention is that we call from ServerSupportFunction() ... in
fact we have several potential calls from that code - please identify which
  call to ServerSupportFunction is't working.

I guess that sending any body, whatsoever should toggle cid-headers_set to
1 so that everything else works.

Let me make certain; are you trying to send a response 200 OK with *no*
  headers, *AND* no body?

Apache 2.0 ForceType directive problem

Summary: Apache 2.0 ForceType directive problem
   Product: Apache httpd-2.0
   Version: 2.0.40
  Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: Normal
  Priority: Other
 Component: mod_mime
AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I have run into a problem that will force me to downgrade from Apache 2.0.40 to
1.3.27. I have used the Files and ForceType directives under 1.3.20 to allow
passing script data via the URL to scripts without using query string (? at the
end). It appears that since v. 2.0 the server no longer responds the same as
1.3.*. The following sample URL would execute the script process in the
document root running under 1.3.20 as mapped in .htaccess with a ForceType
directive:

http://www.somedomain.com/process/datavalue1/datavalue2

Under 2.0.40 executing the URL above results in an Error 404. If I remove the
extra parts after process it works. So the ForceType seems to be working. But
the way 2.0 is treating process as a directory instead of a file is troubling
me.

http://www.somedomain.com/process

The .htaccess file in the document root contains:

Files process
  ForceType application/x-httpd-php
/Files

But, not being able to pass arbitrary data after the process part so the
script can parse it defeats the purpose of URLs without query strings.

Is this an oversight or a planned (undocumented) change in 2.0? I have searched
the bug DB and the change log and cannot find any info relating to this. I
searched Google groups and found several others reporting the same complaint.

Thank you

It's quite simple. PHP as a filter will be delivered by the core handler which
doesn't accept additional path information by default.
You have to use http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/mod/core.html#acceptpathinfo
to change that behaviour, i.e.

Files process
  ForceType application/x-httpd-php
  AcceptPathInfo On
/Files

Thanks for using Apache!
