Is the inteldrm firmware installed? pkg_info | grep firmware

If not, run fw_update as root (needs internet access).

Thank you for the response. I was not aware of that change. Also,
hibernate does work fine as you said. That is rather frustrating to have
a change but these things happen. Has anyone looked at what supporting
S0ix might take?

This is due to vendors dropping support for ACPI S3 (Suspend-to-RAM), and
instead now favouring subsets of S0 called "S0ix", which are unsupported.

Lots of recent discussion about this happening online, other operating
systems being affected.

In the meantime, you should still be able to use S4/hibernate
(Suspend-to-disk), w/ ZZZ(8) or by setting machdep.lidaction=2 in
/etc/sysctl.conf.

problem is exactly the same as the thread I linked below:
verbose dhclient shows that it sends one request every 1 second but
always fails (see link for output details). tcpdump shows that requests go but
responses do not come back. other OSes (Windows, Mac OS) have no problem even
with the same cable (both before and after the problem occurs). finally,
router reboot does not solve the problem.
I cannot send you my full system info,
but please tell me if you need specific information about some of my
hardware or other stuff.
I will just paste for now the dmesg line for my network card:
            em0 at pci0 dev 31 function 6 "Intel I219-LM" rev 0x21: msi
...failed to apply em_phy_no_cable_workaround.
        what does "em_phy_no_cable_workaround" mean?

link to same problem reported by someone else:
http://openbsd-archive.7691.n7.nabble.com/openbsd-63-eta-and-dhcpclient-problem-td338428.html

Thank you for your patience and your excellent work with this
miraculously clean/stable/secure OS.
