*Job Description:*
In business since 1998, our client serves K-12 school districts by
providing web-based tools for human capital management with solutions that
save time, reduce paper and increase efficient operations for more than
5,000 school districts, along with teachers/substitute teachers,
educational employees, and applicants nationwide.
Our client wants to hire a *passionate and creative UX Designer*. You will
channel user feedback, business needs, and design best practices into
strategic workflows and beautiful user interfaces that delight customers.
You are detail driven, but you don’t lose sight of the big picture, and
enjoy working with developers to deliver the final product. NOTE: THIS IS A
CONTRACT POSITION WITH AN OPTION TO GROW INTO A PERM/FTE STATUS. MINIMUM
OF 6 MONTHS ON CONTRACT TO START.

*Responsibilities*
•Take ownership of improving and maintaining the user experience for one or
more applications.
•Collaborate closely with Product Managers to understand the users and
document their needs in visual formats including personas, task flows,
customer journey maps, et al.
•Design engaging user interfaces that reflect corporate brand values and
users’ mental model of the system
•Communicate details through style guides, wireframes, prototypes, mockups,
and direct interaction with team.
•Build and maintain strong working relationships with team members and
stakeholders.
•Participate in design reviews, shared projects, and other design efforts.
*Required Skills:*•Degree in a design-related field (HCI, Web Design,
Interaction Design) or 4 years of relevant experience
•Portfolio of past UI work samples
•4 years of experience as a UX, UI, or Product Designer with Adobe Suite
applications (primarily Photoshop).
•Outstanding UI design skills incorporating common sense solutions to user
problems.
•Ability to create low-fidelity sketches, wireframes, and/or prototypes of
new ideas for validation.
•Experience capturing user problems and translating them into clear
solutions and recommendations
•Able to provide expert-level guidance on web standards, usability best
practices, and UI trends, and to hand-code semantic, standards-compliant
HTML and CSS.
*Preferred Skills*
•Designing for mobile devices and/or responsive web applications
•Agile-based project environment
