[BVARC] Louisiana Traffic net on 3910- Hurricane activation

2021-08-27 Thread terry leatherland via BVARC
BVARCers. With the coming Hurricane to our brethren east of here, people may
want to monitor the Louisiana traffic net on 80 meters 3910 at 600 pm.They are
activated for Hurricane Ida assistance.I am also one of my church Missions
leaders, so if we hear of needs, we'll relay things on the net Monday nite. I
will be the net control.I'll be monitoring their net tomorrow nite but not
Sunday.I checked in tonight and let them know that we are here to help.

Stay tuned & 73 Terry

Tom Taylor and the President of Borden Radio Company, Lance Borden.

This workshop will be focused on crystal radios and presented by Tom Taylor and
Lance Borden of Borden Radio Company. They will have working examples of
Borden Radio Company kits to include; the Pickard Crystal Set, the Dunwoody

the Armstrong One Tube Radio, the Morgan Antenna Tuner, and the Bucher Wave
Trap for Crystal Radios. Lance and Tom will also show the antenna kit and some
of the accessory items, like headsets and open Crystal detectors. They will
have a small AM transmitter and CD player to provide the signal for the radios.
They will explain how each device works and will demonstrate how they interact
with each other.

This workshop is available for everyone, from the middle school student to the
post-graduate hobbyist. There is no charge to attend. Your RSVP is always
appreciated and important right now as it helps us to know if we need to
schedule a second class to prevent over crowding. We may repeat the session
later in the day if we get a lot of RSVPs. It would help us to have your RSVP
by 1pm Friday (Sept 3). We hope to see you here!

If you are interested in sharing your knowledge and presenting a workshop in
our store, please come talk to me.

I'll be going to help out on the 4th, let me know if you, as a BVARC member,
would also be interested in helping.
