Did you tune the length of the wire? I'm running a end fed with 49:1 unun,
and SWR was terrible with 66' of wire. Ended up taking ~4 feet off, and SWR
is under 1.8 on 40, 20, 15, and 10.

[BVARC] Antenna Tuner

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good antenna tuner for a 1/2 wave end 
fed wire antenna? Have researched Yaesu FC40, LDG Electronics, MFJ, ham radio 
website and have not found anything that has attracted my attention. My SWRs 
are way off and  according to the website "literature" wire antennas need a 
tuner...

I'm going to have to listen to them again...damn fast in fact, theyre IDing 
faster than 20 words a minute and that's against part 90 rules...I didn't have 
a chance to write them down and they're not even complete call signs...Chris
