Re: [BVARC] Is LOTW Dead? Is The ARRL A Sinking Ship?

2024-06-06 Thread Andre Pollard via BVARC
Here's my issue with the ARRL's response - it was 2 days short of 4 weeks
when any significant information about what actually happened was posted.
That wouldn't make the general public happy, but for a membership
organization of tech savvy people, it's really an issue. You also had to go
looking for the information on the webpage by clicking to the news link.
And when I went to the news page, it wasn't even the top story. The link
should have been a banner on every page after a member logged in.

most have connectors. All are free, they just need to go away. ASAP

Please respond off reflector.

Re: [BVARC] 2024 Field Day K3's

2024-06-06 Thread Allen Brier via BVARC
I would hope that each person bringing a K3 would bring a power supply as well.
Usually that works out, but just wanted to do a reminder…

If you don’t have a power supply with your K3, let us know so we can get
another one for it.

Where do we get these power supplies from?

Subject: 2024 Field Day K3's

Field Day is coming up in a few weeks. As some of you might know, we have
standardized on using Elecraft K3’s for Field Day to provide a consistent
operator interface and to make it easier for computer interfaces to be
implemented. In addition, K3’s stand up to the rigorous environment of 10 or
more simultaneous operating stations with minimal interstation interference.

Currently I have 10 K3’s committed. We are planning to operate 10A (as we have
in the past). However, this leaves us with no spares or contingencies in case
someone cannot make it or we have some equipment malfunctions. I am asking club
members with K3’s to please loan us your rig(s) for 24 hours so we at least
have some backups.

You can contact me directly or update this list:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uc_xqVcm28uSl0d6fCryzMtX3R3cuHoDJFBS_uw8VLA/edit?usp=sharing
 .

Thank you…see you at Field Day!!
