The only word I can say about the event is - WOW. With everyone's planning and hard work over the last six months, the event truly knocked it out of the ball park and was an unbelievable success. You could have not asked for a better 20th anniversary event with everything that happened. From the great weather to the great food to the, and this is the big one, the over 1200 attendees to the GHHF, the event was huge accomplishment! More details will be sent out later this week about the GHHF but for now I wanted to get this e-mail out now thanking everyone for their great work. To get started on the right foot for next GHHF, mark your calendars for the "postmortem" which will be held on March 19th at 4 pm. The format (in person or zoom) will be determined the closer we get to the date. And mark your calendar for the 2024 GHHF which will be held on March 1st and 2nd at the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds. Everyone should give themselves a pat on the back for a great job for the 2023 Greater Houston HamFest! Re: [BVARC] Local Ham Radio Hero Saves Friend’s Life Hundreds Of Miles Away – CBS Sacramento
That really cool that happened. I have only heard one other time this happened. It was late and the net control operator stopped the net and had another ham call for help. From College Station to California and the man got help. That is what I think amateur radio is about. Helping others when they need it. It was a close call, and Dr was not sure if I will make it. Because I’m on Oxigen and lost 95 % capacity of my lung, I'm looking for someone who can help with a small project. My end-fed antenna runs from a lower part of my roof to my fence. I’m looking if someone is comfortable walking o my roof to raise my end fed antenna to higher point. Thanks in advance.
