I'm sure this is unrelated, but I found it on Wikipedia:

In Italy 375-line television transmissions were undertaken by Arturo Castellani
[8][9][10]
 in
1937,[11]
 with daily broadcasts from
Rome,
between 6pm and 9:30pm on 6.9 meters (43.45 MHz) with a power of 2 kW.

I wonder if someone revived an old transmitter and is using it for music or
Muzak.

Since it is music, do you concurrently hear it on any commercial broadcast
frequency?

Also could it be a harmonic or derived from mixing with an intermediate
frequency?

Re: [BVARC] Off topic: weird music on 43.54 MHz

2023-07-05 Thread Mike Hardwick via BVARC
A couple of questions:

What kind of receiver are you using?
Is the receiver set for wide FM or narrow?
What kind of antenna?
How tall is the antenna?
If directional, what is the azimuth?
Last but not least, what part of Houston do you live in?

Mike Hardwick.
