No, you didn't of course.

Sincerely. My comment was made as a joke more than anything else.

Yes, I know - I even found it funny, I just answered because I haven't
read my emails for some days and there were many replies in the thread.

The template is a well template. The goal of this "Main new features"
section is to highlight the main stuff in a release because users main not
read the full changes list.

That was my idea - but as you mentioned, the main stuff was not really
sex :-)

I think we must keep it in the template. However when we do a bug fix
release maybe it should be removed and some text should say it's a bug fix
release only.

Hopefully the next release (1.8) will be done using Maven, so some
plugin will take care of it :-)

Not very sexy main new features! :-)

Actually, a lot of stuff has been done, but they're listed on Jira:

http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CACTUS?report=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.project:changelog-panel

Yes, that would make sense - could you please do that change on the
announcement template? (I'm afraid if I do it it would be much sexier at
all :-(

JBoss 4.x support (was RE: [ANN] Cactus 1.7.1 has been released)

2005-08-20 Thread Vincent Massol
Hi Masibonge,

(First, please don't hijack a previous discussion thread for your own topic.
Start a new thread. The reason is that this breaks email readers that
support threading. It's also hard to see what you're discussing about if the
subject is wrong. Please note that even if you change the subject there will
email headers still pointing to the previous thread so you really need to
create a new mail and not hijack a previous thread.)

See below.

I don't think JBoss 4.x is supported by the Cactus Ant tasks. Cactus does
work with any container but the Ant tasks may not support it. We're
currently migrating to Cactus to use Cargo (http://cargo.codehaus.org) which
will have support for JBoss 4.x in version 0.7 (the one in development).
It's already functional in SVN.

That said, if you search the Cactus archives and JIRA I think you'll find
solutions for running Cactus with JBoss 4.x.

Hope it helps,
-Vincent

Hey guys
I'm new in the cactus environment, and I'd like to know how do run
cactus with the jboss 4.0.2 container because I've encountered some
errors while trying to modify the build file that comes out with the
cactus download

:-)

I think it's fine to release bug fix releases. That's the case and it's
mentioned by the fact that it's 1.7.1 that has been released (note the last
"1" minor/patch number).

What we should probably have said is that it's a bug fix release and removed
the "Main new features" header and instead list the changes.
