[Cairo-dock-team] [Bug 697118] Re: Dock flicker on icon disappearing
Hello Cedric What's your WM? (Compiz, Metacity, KWin, XFWM, etc.) Is it possible to try to reproduce this bug with Compiz? For me this bug is due to your WM because the window of Cairo-Dock is resized and moved as the same time and I guess that your WM does these two things one after the other. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Cairo- Dock Team, which is subscribed to Cairo-Dock Core. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/697118 Title: Dock flicker on icon disappearing Status in Cairo-Dock : Core: New Bug description: When i close a window with no associated launcher, when icon disappear, screen flicker like on this video: http://adishatz.1s.fr/~gnumdk/cairo-dock-flicker.ogv Running last stable version of cairo-dock on ArchLinux with Nvidia driver (cairo-dock 2.2.0-4) ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~cairo-dock-team Post to : cairo-dock-team@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~cairo-dock-team More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Cairo-dock-team] [Bug 696938] Re: No way to keep the dock on top of the window stack
I link this bug to Compiz, since a WM should always keep a dock window on top of the others. I encourage you to report this bug on their bug tracker as well ( http://bugs.compiz.org). 2011/1/3 Fionn 696...@bugs.launchpad.net Public bug reported: I am using the latest version available in Ubuntu maverick on a gnome/compiz Desktop. (2.2.0~4-0ubuntu1) Since the moment I deactivated click-to-front in the compiz window management section (I prefer to raise and lower windows with keyboard shortcuts), I have the problem that cairo-dock keeps being hidden behind application windows. Sometimes it is visible in front, most time it is not. Using the keyboard shortcuts I can push other windows behind the dock. However, the shortcuts wont raise the dock. Click-to-front does. I am using the config option that tells CD to hide if the active window would be obstructed and to come back when the pointer touches the screen border. I already tried to start cairo-dock with the --keep-above argument in the session manager but it seems to make no difference at all. What can I do to improve the situation? ** Affects: cairo-dock-core Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Cairo- Dock Team, which is subscribed to Cairo-Dock Core. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/696938 Title: No way to keep the dock on top of the window stack Status in Cairo-Dock : Core: New Bug description: I am using the latest version available in Ubuntu maverick on a gnome/compiz Desktop. Re: [Cairo-dock-team] [Bug 697118] Re: Dock flicker on icon disappearing
thanks ! to be more specific, I think the problem comes from the use of the gdk_move_resize function, which resizes and moves the window at the same time. it just calls XMoveResize, and then the WM get the X message and do its job (here, it probably does it in 2 times instead of 1). 2011/1/4 Bellegarde Cedric gnu...@gmail.com Ok, can confirm it's a Kwin issue, will report to them. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Cairo- Dock Team, which is subscribed to Cairo-Dock Core. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/697118 Title: Dock flicker on icon disappearing Status in Cairo-Dock : Core: New Bug description: When i close a window with no associated launcher, when icon disappear, screen flicker like on this video: http://adishatz.1s.fr/~gnumdk/cairo-dock-flicker.ogvhttp://adishatz.1s.fr/%7Egnumdk/cairo-dock-flicker.ogv Running last stable version of cairo-dock on ArchLinux with Nvidia driver (cairo-dock 2.2.0-4) ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~cairo-dock-teamhttps://launchpad.net/%7Ecairo-dock-team Post to : cairo-dock-team@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~cairo-dock-teamhttps://launchpad.net/%7Ecairo-dock-team More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Cairo- Dock Team, which is subscribed to Cairo-Dock Core. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/697118 Title: Dock flicker on icon disappearing Status in Cairo-Dock : Core: New Bug description: When i close a window with no associated launcher, when icon disappear, screen flicker like on this video: http://adishatz.1s.fr/~gnumdk/cairo-dock-flicker.ogv Running last stable version of cairo-dock on ArchLinux with Nvidia driver (cairo-dock 2.2.0-4) ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~cairo-dock-team Post to : cairo-dock-team@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~cairo-dock-team More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Cairo-dock-team] [Question #140136]: Preview view for a dock
New question #140136 on Cairo-Dock Core: https://answers.launchpad.net/cairo-dock-core/+question/140136 this is more or less a feature request. right now there are several views to choose for sub docks. what about adding a preview view. it shows the preview window instead of the icon. this would be most interesting for a sub dock to make it easier to make the right selection right away. specially when a lot of instances of the same classes are open (e.g. wine, evolution, evince) this makes it very interesting to see previews instead of another bunch of icons that you have to mouse over to get the previews before selecting the right one. hope this makes sense. -- You received this question notification because you are a member of Cairo-Dock Team, which is an answer contact for Cairo-Dock Core. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~cairo-dock-team Post to : cairo-dock-team@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~cairo-dock-team More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
