gyrate360: I've upgraded my Firebug many times after I posted my question, and right now I'm using Firebug 1.12.8. It seems that the "Modify User-Agent String" option is not available anymore.
Try upgrading your Firebug and reset your plugin settings using the Firebug Addon Manager.
