lol... yeah ok, i'll copy and paste the code from the book for you...

class UsersController extends AppController {
var $components = array('Auth');

function beforeFilter() {
$this->Auth->fields = array(
'username' => 'username', 
'password' => 'secretword'
);
}
}

change "username" to "email" or what ever you want.

if you'd followed my link, you'd see the same code...
