edit the .htaccess fiel within root and include the following from

IfModule mod_rewrite.c
   RewriteEngine on
   RewriteRule^$ app/webroot/[L]
   RewriteRule(.*) app/webroot/$1 [L]
/IfModule

to

IfModule mod_rewrite.c
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/projects/(.*)$
RewriteRule ^.*$ - [L]
/IfModule

Hello,
So here's my problem:
I have a CakePHP installation in my server root (/www).  What I would
like is for CakePHP to NOT rewrite URL's for directories/files that
exist.  For example, I am making a project manager with my main
CakePHP installation.  In my server root, I have the following:
app/
cake/
projects/ (not a Cake folder)
vendors/

index.php

I would like to be able to navigate to the projects folder, where I
