Oh and Calvin - do you actually work for Rotten Records? That's awesome, I love Acid Bath! I actually work for a few US metal labels too in my freelance capacity! Re: serious problem with cakephp about CakePHP Auth Component & Permissions
Well said. There seems to be a growing trend of people posting in this group that seem have little to no idea about working with CakePHP and seem to just want people to do their work for them. Personally I just don't get it, but maybe that 'cos I actually enjoy programming and solving problems... Re: serious problem with cakephp about CakePHP Auth Component & Permissions
No one is going to do your work for you (no matter how "easy" you claim it is). And you can't become a successful web develop by being a copy-n-paste programmer. Instead of looking for source code on the web, just read the documentation for Cake and for the components you're trying to use. If you still don't get it, try some tutorials. Then when you run into __specific__ problems with your code, paste a snippet in your post or use pastebin.com to show us what part of your code you're having trouble with. Don't just upload a zip file of your app folder and expect people to debug your program and get it working for you. Re: Serious problem...
Yes, you're right sorry. So, what I did: first of all I modified /app/config/core.php uncommenting this line: //define ('BASE_URL', $_SERVER['SCRIPT_NAME']); Then, I removed the .htaccess (my webserver didn't allow me to use it). And magically, I got it...it's working althought with the "/index.php/controller/function" type of URL...but it's better than nothing ;) What I used to do this? Imagination, tutorial and my webserver errors log... --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Cake PHP" group. Re: Serious problem...
Ok, you were right (sorry if I didn't understand quickly :-))! Anyway, I uploaded the .htaccess but I'm experiencing a lot of problems; the question is that Aruba doesn't allow me to modify anything in the webserver configuration, so I have to work out something myself. Anyway, I also think they don't have mod_rewrite on so, what can I do? I get a 500 Error now...and this is the error log for my domain: [Thu Nov 16 17:29:00 2006] [error] [client XX.XX.XXX.XXX] File does not exist: /web/htdocs/www.b-artworks.com/home/user [Thu Nov 16 17:29:01 2006] [error] [client XX.XX.XXX.XXX] File does not exist: /web/htdocs/www.b-artworks.com/home/user --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Cake PHP" group. Hi all, I developed an application with CakePHP on my local webserver (actually MAMP); when I finished it, I uploaded it to my personal FTP server that I have with an italian hosting company (Aruba). Well, the problem is that I get this error: NOT FOUND The requested URL /user/login was not found on this server.
