I have baked in cake12 with asaffold and get add, delete, edit, and vdiew . I didn't want all colums to be displayed as there are too many for the aray display. I deleted the unwanted fields in the view and index ctp files. I still see the Notices 1,2 etc and also "drop down information" as Context.Code. It tells me I have 6 records to be displayed.
