 For people who haven't seen it, I have a number of Camlp4 articles at

 Would it be appropriate to cut and paste this material to the wiki?

I think so. If cut/pasted in an organized way it should provide with
a better long term place for this information to be. Feel free to
link back to your blog if you want to.

Thanks for all your reading/writting!

[Caml-list] CUFP 2010 is coming! (Oct 12 in Baltimore MD)

2010-09-05 Thread Yaron Minsky
Just reminding everyone that the Commercial Users of Functional
Programming(CUFP) 2010 workshop is just a month away. If you haven't
registered yet, you can register at ICFP's site, here:

https://regmaster3.com/2010conf/ICFP10/register.php

We have a really interesting program, including talks that should be of
interest to this list. Here are the details:

The 2010 Commercial Users of Functional Programming workshop will be
held in conjunction with ICFP in Baltimore MD, USA on October 1st and
2nd.

Come and learn about how functional programming is used in industry
today. Learn how Scala is powering geo-spatial search at Twitter, how
Intel is developing a functional language which will scale on
multicore machines, how Credit Suisse is using F# for rapid
development of GUI tools, and more. And this year, coinciding with
the public release of F#, we'll have a keynote from Luke Hoban, the
program director for F# at Microsoft.

You can also attend the half-day-long tutorials taught by experts and
leaders in the functional programming community. The topics include:

* building robust servers in Erlang
* optimizing the performance of Haskell programs
* building web apps in Scala and Lift
* metaprogramming with camlp4 and template haskell
* introductions to newer languages like Clojure and F#

The full schedule of talks and tutorials is available here:

   http://cufp.org/conference/schedule/2010

and you can register for the conference (and the rest of ICFP and the
associated workshops) here:

   https://regmaster3.com/2010conf/ICFP10/register.php

See you in Baltimore October 1st and 2nd!

Re: [Caml-list] ANN: ocamljs 0.3

2010-09-05 Thread Christophe Papazian

Dear Jake,

I was playing with ocamljs. It's very nice to use ocaml to
produce javascript ! I have a question : in ocamljs, there is a support
for style objects. However, I do not see how to use them usefully
because
there don't seem to have some set_style method anywhere (but I found
the get_style).

Did I miss something ?

Thank you,

Christophe

Hi list,

I am happy to announce version 0.3 of ocamljs. Ocamljs is a system for
compiling OCaml to Javascript. It includes a Javascript back-end for
the OCaml compiler, as well as several support libraries, such as
bindings to the browser DOM. Ocamljs also works with orpc
(http://jaked.github.com/orpc) for RPC over HTTP, and froc
(http://jaked.github.com/froc) for functional reactive browser
programming.

Changes since version 0.2 include:

* support for OCaml 3.11.x and 3.12.0
* jQuery binding (contributed by Dave Benjamin)
* full support for OCaml objects (interoperable with Javascript
objects)

* Lwt 2.x support
* ocamllex and ocamlyacc support
* better interoperability with Javascript
* many small fixes and improvements

Development of ocamljs has moved from Google Code to Github; see

* project page: http://github.com/jaked/ocamljs
* documentation: http://jaked.github.com/ocamljs
* downloads: http://github.com/jaked/ocamljs/downloads

I hope you find this work useful.

Jake

 P.S.: Merjis' looks outdated.

Well, Merjis's library needs some love, but it could be brought up to
date given some time and effort. If you want to access Adwords API
from OCaml I think this is your best (in fact, only) choice.
